September 9

Destination: Frankie's Dawg House - Baton Rouge

Riders: Antoine and Tommy

Comments: Antoine and Tommy decided to take a ride on this cool morning. Frankie's Dawg House was selected for it's numerous "hot dog" variations. Tommy led the ride to the Sunshine Bridge then proceded on the East Bank river road to Gardere Lane. After a short distance on LA 30 we turned onto Bluebonnet Blvd then a right on Burbank Drive to Siegen Lane. Frankie's is located just before Cloverland on Siegen.

I had the Crawfish Dawg which consisted of crawfish sausage topped with creamy tomato sauce, fried crawfish and and french onion strings. Antoine had the Morning Dawg which had smoked sausage topped with sunny-side up egg, black pepper, bacon, shredded cheese, and maple syrup.

The food was great. We returned on the East Bank River road to the Gramercy Bridge then West Bank river road to Vacherie.

September 18

Destination: Tampico's Mexican Restaurant - Morgan City

Riders: Antoine, Tommy, Brandon & Madelyn, and Keith & Marilyn

Comments: Antoine, Tommy, Brandon and Madelyn, and Keith and Marilyn headed down Hwy 90 on our supper ride for this month. Our destination was Tampico’s in Bayou Vista. We enjoyed good food and good conversation.

September 20

Destination: Bar-B-Que Station - Independence

Riders: Tommy, Brandon

Comments:Tommy and Brandon took a ride down Hwy 22, Hwy 40, and Hwy 43 ending up in the heart of Independence. We had lunch at the Barbeque Station. Rather than our usual Brisket Burger, Tommy opted for a Pulled Pork Sandwich while I got a 2 Meat Plate with brisket and ribs. After our meal we took the same route back and surprisingly did not stop for gas at the Dollar General.

Riders: Tommy

Comments:The weather was nice so I took an enjoyable afternoon ride. I headed toward Morgan City on LA 398 and US 90 to LA 70 in Morgan City. From there I followed LA 70 until it intersected with LA 69 near Gator Corner. Then took LA 69 to LA 996 and back to LA 70. From there I headed home on LA 308.
